Safety Management Systems (SMS) was among the 416 companies who participated in the 2013 Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition (LAGCOE) held at the Cajundome and Convention Center in Lafayette, La., from October 22-24.

The biennial event welcomed over 17,000 attendees from 47 states and 43 countries. All had access to the latest state-of-the-art equipment, services, and technologies in the energy industry. Technical presentations were given from international leaders in the onshore and offshore oil & gas exploration and production industry.

SMS featured an array of cutting-edge services and products inside the Cajundome and outside in the Red Zone. Featured services included security, H2S, training and telemedicine. SMS showcased its new security trailer which includes an emergency eye wash station and shower, an AED and medic kit, kitchenette and sleeping quarters. In addition to security, this trailer can be a muster point for evacuations on-site and used for minor medical situations.

“This three-day event is the world’s pioneer oil & gas exposition and has been fueling global energy solutions for almost 60 years, “said SMS President and LAGCOE Board Member Scott Domingue. “SMS’ involvement is great exposure for not only our company, but Lafayette, La., which houses more than 1,300 oil and gas industry companies.”
