  • Atmospheric Testing Awareness

    *This course is part of CORE Training Day 1.

    Overview: During the Atmospheric Testing Awareness course, your duties conducting atmospheric testing are outlined as well as the possible hazards that can occur in a confined space. Also, you will learn about confined space awareness in a non permit confined space entry.

    Course Length: 2hrs | CFR Reference: 29 CFR 1910.146 App B, 29 CFR 1915.12 | Course Required By:  OSHA

    Course Objectives: Upon completion of the Atmospheric Testing Awareness course, the student will be familiar with:
    • Confined space classifications

    • Assessing PRCS entry

    • Atmospheric Hazards

    • Relative gas & vapor properties

    • Electronic Gas Detector operation

    • Electronic Gas Detector limitations

    • Calibration and "bump-Testing" of Electronic Gas Detectors

    • Ventilation techniques

    • Respiratory Protection

    • Land and vessel testing requirements
    Prerequisite: None.

    Written Exam: Written and hands-on competency will be evaluated at the end of each course. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.

    Retraining: As required by company.
