**This course is part of CORE Training Day 2.
Overview: The Bloodborne Pathogens training program will provide students with the essential knowledge necessary to help reduce or eliminate the occupational risk of bloodborne pathogens.
This stand-alone training program is intended to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training regulations in regard to bloodborne pathogens.
Course Length: 2hrs | CFR Reference: 29 CFR 1910.1030(g)(2)(vii) | Course Required By: The OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030, applies to all employees whose job activities may bring them into contact with blood or body fluids.
Course Objectives: The goal of the Bloodborne Pathogens course is to help students understand the risks and develop behaviors that will help protect them when they are exposed to potentially infectious material.
Written Exam: Written and hands-on competency will be evaluated at the end of each course. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.
Retraining: Annual training is required and will be provided within one year of the student's previous training. Employers will provide additional training thereafter.
