In cooperation with SMS and the contractor, specific criteria for temperature and humidity will be determined and the hydration technicians will ensure that all personnel on the job site will be properly hydrated and identify any signs or symptoms of heat stress.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
Site administrators assist with on-site orientations and safety meetings to ensure all personnel are aware of heat-related injuries and they monitor location sign-ins to ensure all personnel are accounted for. This is sometimes combined with the hydration technician position as a dual role.
Hydration technicians and site administrators receive the proper training to ensure they are familiar with their working environment, including, but not limited to the following:
