PEC Refresher

Overview: The PEC Refresher course is offered to maintain required training for all land-based and offshore employees and those contractors actively engaged in operations, such as wireline operators, contract lease operators and maintenance or construction crews. The training consists of 2 parts: (1) viewing of training video/slide show and (2) lecture on course objectives, as listed below.

Welding & Cutting Safety
Fall Protection/Elevated Work
Walking Working & Safety Housekeeping
Materials Handling/Forklift & Crane Safety & Rigging Awareness
Bloodborne Pathogens & First Aid
Manual Lifting & Back Safety
HAZWOPER – First Responder Awareness/Operations Level
Excavation & Trenching
Proficiency tests and hands-on exercises

Written Exam: Written and hands-on competency will be evaluated at the end of each course. PEC required with a minimum score of 80%. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with trainee to insure understanding before completion of course. Students who score below 80% will be allowed up to 2 retests before having to re-take the course.

Retraining: Annually.
