Fall Protection End User Overview: Many employees in general industry work on scaffolds, climb up and down ladders, walk on narrow stairs, work in areas where there may be holes in the floor, or work on elevated floors which have unprotected edges. These workers often need fall protection and training in how to use it. Careless or improper use of equipment can result in serious injury or death. Employers and employees should know how to use personal fall arrest systems including manufacturer's recommendations. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course. Practical Exam: Students must be able to correctly select, inspect and use a personal fall arrest system. Demonstrate proper Hazard identification and elimination. Demonstrate proper climbing techniques while being tied off 100%. Prepare a proper JSA. Demonstrate proper self-rescue techniques at heights. Retraining: Retraining is required when regulations change or new equipment is introduced in the work place that requires specialized training.
