Atmospheric Testing

*This course is part of CORE Training Day 1.

Overview

During the Atmospheric Testing course, your duties conducting atmospheric testing are outlined as well as the possible hazards that can occur in a confined space. Also, you will learn about confined space awareness in a non permit confined space entry.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the Atmospheric Testing Awareness course, the student will be familiar with:

  • Confined space classifications
  • Assessing PRCS entry
  • Atmospheric Hazards
  • Relative gas & vapor properties
  • Electronic Gas Detector operation
  • Electronic Gas Detector limitations
  • Calibration and “bump-Testing” of Electronic Gas Detectors
  • Ventilation techniques
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Land and vessel testing requirements

Course Length: 2 hrs

Course Required By: OSHA

Written Exam: Written and hands-on competency will be evaluated at the end of each course. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.

Retraining: As required by company.
