Dr. Ameen JamaliMedical Director
Dr. Ameen Jamali, a board-certified emergency medicine physician with experience at Johns Hopkins and government agencies, brings his expertise to Safety Management Systems as Medical Director. Dr. Jamali also holds a faculty position at MD Anderson Cancer Center and practices at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. His involvement in research and international initiatives with the World Health Organization showcases his global perspective, while his memberships in professional organizations like the American College of Emergency Physicians highlight his commitment to the field. Dr. Jamali’s dedication to patient care, education, and research makes him a valuable asset and a trusted leader in emergency medicine and tactical medicine.
Fred Sonnier, PAPhysician Assistant
Fred Sonnier is SMS’s first PA. He assists Medical Director Dr. Ameen Jamali in overseeing operations for disaster management and pandemic relief, coordinating testing and care for employees to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. He works with SMS’ remote paramedics in decision making regarding the healthcare of our clients and their workforce.
Fred has been a PA for 21 years, and proudly served 11 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He is a graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School, University of Southwest Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport.
Aaron Webb, PAPhysician Assistant
Aaron serves as medical control for ground ambulance and offshore medics, develops and oversees policies and protocols, provides employees with an additional health and safety resource, and serves as a medical liaison to hospitals and other customers and agencies. He oversees Acadian’s Critical Care Transport program.
He started with Acadian in 1997 and worked as an EMT, paramedic and flight paramedic. He worked as an emergency department physician assistant for five years before returning to Acadian in his new role.
