Drug & Alcohol Awareness
Overview
Drug & Alcohol Awareness is part of the Substance Abuse Awareness program, a knowledge-based training program that meets DOT & USCG guidelines for awareness-level training and education pertaining to crew members working in offshore safety sensitive positions.
Course Objectives
At the end of Drug & Alcohol Awareness training, employees should be familiar with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy and aware of the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse. Employees should also understand:
- The requirements of the Drug-Free Workplace Policy
- The prevalence of alcohol and drug abuse and its impact on the workplace
- How to recognize the link between poor performance and/or alcohol and drug abuse
- The progression of the disease of addiction
- What types of assistance may be available

Written Exam: Written and hands-on competency will be evaluated at the end of each course. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.
