Overview

The Incipient Fire Fighting 4Hr – Limited Hands On course will familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage firefighting.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of Fire – Incipient (4hr) training, the student will be familiar with:

  • Chemistry of fire
  • The fire triangle and tetrahedron
  • Spread of fire
  • Products of combustion
  • Classification of fires
  • Extinguishing agents and their use

Course Length: 4 hrs

Course Required By: OSHA

CFR Reference:29 CFR 1910.155, 156, 157

Written Exam: Written and hands-on competency will be evaluated at the end of each course. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.

Retraining: Student is responsible for retraining every year.
