Medic First Aid® - Oxygen First Aid for Emergencies

Overview: The Medic First Aid® - Oxygen First Aid for Emergencies course is geared towards individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers but desire or are required to be certified in emergency oxygen administration

Course Length: 2 hours, varies by class type| CFR Reference: STCW Code Table A-VI/4-1, Table A-VI/1-4; 46 CFR 10.102(b); 46 CFR 10.205 (h); 46 CFR 10.205 (i); 46 CFR 10.205 (ii); 46 CFR 10.205 (3) | Course Required By: United States Coast Guard for STCW-95 Endorsement

Course Objectives: Upon completion of the Medic First Aid® - Oxygen First Aid for Emergencies course, the student will be familiar with:
  • Performing the steps for Oxygen Delivery for Breathing Patient
  • Performing the steps for Oxygen Delivery for non-breathing Patient
Prerequisites: Basic First Aid, CPR and AED

Written Exam: Recommended for individuals with a duty or employer expectation to respond. 80% or better on the MEDIC First Aid OFA Exam.

Certification Period: May not exceed 24 months from class completion. More frequent reinforcement of skills is recommended.
