At the Acadian Companies annual meeting, Billing Specialist April Melancon was recognized as Safety Management Systems (SMS) Employee of the Year for 2023.
Melancon, who joined SMS in 2011, was nominated for the award because she embodies every one of SMS’s core values, showing passion, integrity, teamwork, and ownership in everything she does. Her pride in the accuracy of her work, commitment to fostering strong relationships with the company’s field employees, and the success of the business office are just a few of the reasons she was chosen as the SMS Employee of the Year.
Melancon played a crucial role in transitioning SMS’ business office to a new software system. Her expertise has been called upon multiple times to resolve challenging accounts, and she always delivers positive outcomes while conducting herself with the utmost professionalism. She strives for excellence, leading by example with her exceptional work and proactive approach to tackling challenging tasks.
