remote medic

Remote Paramedic Alfred Sandominick was recently nominated by Operations Supervisor Carl Dugas for an SMS Standout. Alfred was nominated because of customer recognition from an HSE Manager.

The client said, “I just wanted to let you know that we were very impressed with the induction that was given when they boarded the vessel. BP is going to put him up for the BP Value award for Excellence. This is the first time ever that I am aware of BP singling out on our third parties for a job well done.” Alfred is very new to the vessel and Seadrill and it is quite an accomplishment to be given such an award!

We sat down with Alfred to find out what his days are like.

AC: Describe a typical day at work.

AS: Once in my office, I perform a daily water check and log results, as well as refrigerator temperatures. I then keep an eye out for helicopter flight info via email. Once I am notified of the helicopter times, I make an announcement of the time to arrive in the heliwait lounge. I show a pre-flight safety video and ensure the departure logs are signed. I do a similar setup for arriving personnel; they watch an orientation video, tour the rig, including muster areas and lifeboats, and complete new on-board paperwork.
