Go Gulf Magazine, the No. 1 magazine for the Gulf of Mexico’s oil & gas industry, highlighted Safety Management Systems’ (SMS) recent Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization (OPITO) course selection expansion.

OPITO, an industry-owned organization that sets standards for international oil & gas training, approve SMS as a provider after a rigorous process to assure the quality and content of SMS’ offshore safety curriculum. SMS offers four OPITO courses at its Lafayette, La., training academy: Basic Offshore Safety Induction Emergency Training (BOSIET), Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), Tropical Helicopter Escape Training (T-HUET), and Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET).

SMS is in the process of becoming approved for other OPITO courses.
